It's the simple pleasures...

...like the perfect avocado.

When I play my 'What three foods would you take to a deserted island?' game, these are always in the first four on my list (see? I already can't play the game).

I played this game with a friend of mine recently and I was expecting a good few minutes of him torturing himself over what foods would or wouldn't make his list.

Without missing a beat he came right back with:

'Beer and nuts.'

Leif's favorite past time is to plan for the end of the world, which involves assembling lists of various items including non perishable food one might need should, well, the zombies attack.

Recently he said, "I suppose you'd want to stock up on Pepsi."

To which my knee jerk reaction was, "Hell, yes!" But then I after a moment's thought something occurred to me. "Wait," I said, "Would there be ice, because you know I can't drink soda if it's not on ice. And, will I have a cup? I can't drink soda right out of the can and with out ice."

He rolled his eyes and I changed my answer to "No. I don't think that would be necessary."

But seriously, while I would live with out Pepsi, it is difficult to decide on just 3 things because all the things I want are things that require multiple ingredients. Like my favorite brownie recipe, Greek salad, and cheeseburgers.

I think you're up to about fifty items if you really break that down, Janie!

Just like me, you're also rubbish at this game!

Yes, this would be hard for me too.

Perfect avocados are a good one, because you can get a lot of what you need from them. And there'd already be coconuts.

Eggs. Eggs are great and hugely versatile. Sme with potatoes.

Maybe chocolate, I don't know.

I just looked at your list. You're on a desert island, woman, you can make your own salt in a jiffy!!

Ohh, didn't think of that! Hah! The blindingly obvious eludes me again.

Gah! Nothing more disappointing that opening up to discover the brown has moved in.
