A beautiful phone conversation.

Talking to my five year old niece last night, 'Hardly any more sleeps till I see you! I can't wait!'

'Yeah! Do you know how much I love you, Kate?'

'How much?'

'I love you more than the whole tholar thythtem.'

*crinkles up inside*

While I fully understand that being regarded as a rock star by my nieces will only last for a wee while longer, I have to say that hearing things like that do make my wee heart burst with such joy and delight.

Aw, that's lovely.

It's great knowing you're more loved than Thaturn, and all of the thtarth.

You deserve it too, it's obvious how fond you are of them all.

Oh, you're beautiful Tinman!

Oh, no, they'll dote on you for ages.

My aunt took me to see the original Star Wars when it first came out, and as I was only 7 at the time and she had to talk my parents in to it, I pretty much still worship her. Of course this was also the aunt that introduced me to "Saturday Night Live," Ren Faire, and that funny smelling smoke that wafted from her roommate's room towards the back of their apartment.

It was the 70's, man. She was cool.

Not that I am suggesting for a minute that you should do anything like that with your niece, ahem.

No, wouldn't dream of it Fat Sparrow.

I did tell their father I was looking forward to teaching them to dress like hookers, though.

That may complicate their job, as parents, of keeping their daughter off the pole.

The think there also exists in their job description 'keeping the aunt out of the house'.

Hmmm, "aunt spray," maybe they should look in to it, heh.

That's next Christmas sorted, then.
