Bit puffed now.

Blogging has gone right out the window for the last week or so. There's a couple of reasons ( on top of the reasons I've already banged on about), the biggest being that old chestnut time, which seems to have been kidnapped by all manner of activities. Things like work and my third move of the year. (Out of my house, into furnished accommodation, out of furnished accommodation into permanent accommodation and being reunited with all my stuff- does that count as three?)It was always going to be like this, and this will be my last move for some considerable time, unless I'm being carried out of here in a coffin.

But if I see another box filled with possessions I own, I shall either go and throw myself under the nearest bus or I will start hurling it out the window like a lolly scramble yelling, 'Get your free stuff here!' (Which I imagine would be about half an hour before the men in white coats arrived who would then ask me to pack a suitcase).

So if you don't mind, I'll just continue with that lie down I talked about a week ago and be back in a minute.

Take your time, take your time :::offers up pillow:::

They say three moves are worth a fire, in terms of getting rid of possessions.

Moving is such stressful business, I'm surprised you managed to turn the computer on.

Moving totally kicks your butt. I tend to settle in places for years. It may be a Taurus thing. Hope you're settled for a while this time.

FAt Sparrow, I wish I'd known that before I started this circus cause I would have been a lot more brutal. However I found myself saying as I unpacked yet another box, 'Not MORE bloody books!' And I just can't throw books out.

Thank you Jo! OH the unpacking fairies, how many teeth to I have to lose to get them to come and visit?

I'm liking the cut of you jib, Sas.

It has been rather large, Mwa, but you know you're getting some semblance of order back when some room clears to turn the 'puter back on.

Oh, let me count the ways I hate moving, Jayne.

I just donated over 3,000+ to our local library. Can't afford to ship them over, and there's no room for them at the Spouse Sparrow's mum's, anyway. Damn near killed me, though. I didn't have many books growing up, and so I had been amassing my own library since I was able to earn my own money. Everyone keeps telling me that stuff like Kindle is going to be the wave of the future, but I hardly think a Kindle's going to replace my out-of-print and autographed books. I kept the Ray Bradbury autographed ones.

Hang in there, one day you will be all settled, and all things will be good.

Yes it does count as three moves, so no wonder you're a bit frazzled.

And I've no idea what a lolly scramble is, but it sounds lovely.

Fat Sparrow, 3000 + books you donated???!!! How amazing. My mother donated a whole bunch of my and my brother and sister's books to a school in Africa. Wonder if they're still appreciating appreciate Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys?

You don't know what a lolly scramble is, Tinman? You take a bag a sweets and then start hurling them in the air (preferably from a great height), whilst yelling out 'Lolly scramble!' and watch as small children start knocking each other out in their attempts to grab the bounty from the ground. There's always tears.

So it must be a Libran thing to hate shifting in the first place?
