Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I saw a Christmas tree today. As in, a full blown I'm-a-Christmas-tree-!-Christmas-tree.

Shoot me now.

Thankfully, due to the Great Recession, we're still only seeing Hallowe'en stuff, as the retailers can't sell it.

And of course we have Thanksgiving in between Hallowe'en and Christmas, so hopefully we'll get a further respite than normal, this year, as that whole "Oh the Recession will be over by Christmas" thing hasn't really worked out.

But I feel for you. In boom times, there were stores in the mall that were solely dedicated to Christmas merchandise, and were open year-round.

But isn't it, Jayne?

Fat Sparrow, good point. Halloween isn't that big down here, so we don't get too tortured by retailers on that front. Year round Christmas merchandise? Gah.

We'd a Christmas ad on the TV here over the weekend, my daughter caught me shouting "oh shag off" at the telly.

Good to hear it, both times.

One of our local shops are already offering a christmas present wrapping service. I'm going to burn it down on Hallowe'en...

Tinman, I thought heard an echo.

Sas, I like your thinking.

Hallow'een is in full belt here. I was visiting a friend over in East Wall (a traditionally more, well traditional part of Dublin). The frequency and loudness of the bangers increased the closer I got to his house.

At least you can't hear Christmas carolling.
