Hands up who is really hoping that swine flu is the Y2K of 2009?

Question.

Mad cow disease.
Bird flu.
Swine flu.
Steve Irwin's stingray.

Does anyone get the feeling there are some species out there who are starting to show signs that they're getting really sick of humans?

No shit.

Battery farming is just a bad bad idea.

Not sure about the stingray, but I guess he was feeling pestered. Steve was very enthusiastic, god bless him.

Isn't it though? If I was a battery hen I would be wanting to take down the human race.

Maybe the vegetarians are on to something...

I actually thought that! The moment we get cabbage flu, then we know we're fully screwed.

Poison Ivy, nettles, coconuts falling from trees, I wouldn't trust the plant life either...

actually my mind would be pretty empty so I probably wouldn't.

I've been veggie for 16 years. If I catch swine flu, I'll be taking it very personally!

I definitely think seagulls are plotting to take over the world.

This one has me a bit uneasy alright and I'm not one for believing hype.

Actually I am.

Heh, Tinman, then if you throw in earthquake, tsunami, eruptions, flood, fire....you start to get the feeling that the whole world is conspiring against us.

B- battery hens, I do think battery hens are a quite a sensational low us humans have sunk to.

Hiya Meadow, when seagulls take over the world I think that's when we've officially turned into an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

HOlemaster, I was feeling a bit windy about it all. This morning when I heard that the first death outside of Mexico had occurred, I thought 'Uh oh, here we go'. I think it was a 22 month old baby, but when the newsreader said that the baby had been suffering a number of other health problems as well, I did start to wonder about the hype.

"A bit windy"

Kate, do you get a bit of gas when you're worried?

Hah! We may speak the same language, but sometimes words are lost in translation!

Yes, it's those with compromised immune systems who are at risk, the sick, young and elderly. so far people with the flu have reported 'mild flulike symptoms',

HMMM.
