As the Fruitcake is currently looking at flowers in China, my father is fending for himself. He called yesterday morning, rather pleased.
'Oh and I've worked out how to drive the washing machine! But - bloody hell - that thing has more buttons than the first plane I learnt to fly.'

He learned in a 747?
They make washing machines flash in New Zealand.
If it's a F&P machine it'll also play the national anthem (ours or one of several others) if you press a specific sequence of keys. Now that's flash!
Don't ask me what the sequence is, I've no idea (this info was given and proved by a mate who used to work part time in an appliance store) - but I'm sure le interweb could tell you.
Really?! Outstanding!
I've found it!

How to 'drive' the washing machine?! Love it!
Yeah, you'd think he'd be flying it. But maybe he's saving that for the dryer!
